The ITIL v3 certification scheme operates at four levels:
- ITIL v3 Foundation in IT Service Management
- ITIL v3 Intermediate Level - Service Lifecycle and Service Capability Streams
- ITIL v3 Expert Certificate
- ITIL v3 Master Qualification

ITIL Version 3 Intermediate Capstone:
Having followed either or a combination of the Intermediate Lifecycle and Capability streams there is a capstone course, which is entitled:
- Intermediate Capstone
- Managing Across the Lifecycle (MALC)
