The ITIL v3 certification scheme operates at four levels:
  • ITIL v3 Foundation in IT Service Management
  • ITIL v3 Intermediate Level - Service Lifecycle and Service Capability Streams
  • ITIL v3 Expert Certificate
  • ITIL v3 Master Qualification

The ITIL Intermediate level is comprised of two streams:
  • Lifecycle Stream
    • Service Strategy (SS)
    • Service Design (SD)
    • Service Transition (ST)
    • Service Operation (SO)
    • Continual Service Improvement (CSI)

  • Capability Stream
    • Operational Support and Analysis (OSA)
    • Service Offerings and Agreements (SOA)
    • Release Control and Validation (RCV)
    • Planning, Protection and Optimization (PPO)
ITIL Version 3 Intermediate Capstone:
 
Having followed either or a combination of the Intermediate Lifecycle and Capability streams there is a capstone course, which is entitled:
  • Intermediate Capstone
    • Managing Across the Lifecycle (MALC)
